Packaging
Nearly all of our packaging is either reused or reusable, or recycled and recycleable. We wrap soaps in 100% recycled Kraft™ paper; our candles and bath salts are in reusable mason jars, which are great to use around the house, or you can return them for $1 off your next purchase.
Our labels are stamped with stamps hand-made using Casey Rubber Stamps in the East Village of Manhattan. We use conventional inks, because we couldn't find soy-based stamp pads — if you can, let us know!
Shipping boxes are reused or made from 100% recycled cardboard. As often as possible, packing materials are reused from our own suppliers (who are often clearly reusing them from their suppliers, because that's the kind of people we like to hang with).
Lip balm containers are simple metal, and recycleable in the City of New York, and maybe your city too!
Shipping
Because it's the only cost-effective way to ship by ground, we prefer to ship by USPS Parcel Post, since airplanes emit 50-100 times more CO2 for every mile you ship something. That said, if you need something urgently we'll send it by UPS Carbon Neutral—it isn't perfect, but it's better than nothing.
We charge you for shipping what we expect it to cost us, with one great exception: for orders over $100, Parcel Post shipping is free!
